As one of the representative fish in Bazhong, the silver carps grown in the Bahe River are reputed for their tender flavor. Silver carps are expected to be cooked together with potatoes, preserved meat and other ingredients to make them more delicious during the preparatory process. It is advised to braise the preserved meat into a golden color and add salt vegetables, onion, ginger and garlic before putting the silver carps into the pot. Bean sauce and pickled peppers should be fried for a while and subsequently boiled with pork soup. Potatoes are the last ingredient to be added to the pot.
