On July 18th, the "Investment Promotion for Bazhong Entrepreneurs Returning Home" and the signing ceremony for key projects in Bazhong Economic Development Zone were held in Bazhong, Sichuan province.

Projects with a total investment of 2.05 billion yuan ($287 million) were signed, focusing on the dominant industries of new energy, new materials, and biopharmaceuticals. These include medical beauty equipment production, healthy beauty industry park, high-end LED chip packaging and integrated circuit board production.

The signing ceremony was held for six manufacturing projects. Among them, Guangzhou Zhongke Medical Cosmetic Instrument Co., Ltd. plans to invest 1 billion yuan in the production project of medical and beauty equipment. After the completion and operation of the project, it is projected to achieve an annual output value of 450 million yuan. Guangzhou Yuanxu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. plans to invest 300 million yuan to build a health and beauty industry park, which is seen to generate an annual output value of 200 million yuan.

Yang Jie, secretary of the Party Working Committee and director of the Management Committee of Bazhong Economic Development Zone, said the six high-quality manufacturing projects that have been signed are in line with the industrial positioning of the city and the zone. With large investment scale, wide radiation coverage, and strong driving force, they will provide strong support for cultivating a new energy and new materials industry cluster with an output value of over 20 billion yuan in Bazhong.

The good business environment in the zone has received enormous recognition from investors. Huang Bo, the founder of Superstar Mingchuang Group, said that the decision to establish the company's headquarters in Bazhong -- which covers Sichuan and the southwest region -- was based on the favorable business environment in Bazhong. By settling in the zone, the company has enjoyed "nanny-like" services. In just 10 months, the company has completed the construction of the "Western China Aluminum New Material Base" and was upgraded to a large-scale enterprise in the month of production.

The Guangdong-Sichuan Chamber of Commerce has organized several inspection groups to visit Bazhong  to gain a detailed understanding of the development planning, business environment, industrial support, advantageous resources, and urban improvement of the Bazhong Economic Development Zone. "We will rely on the platform of the chamber of commerce, form chains and groups to settle in, and expand cooperation with the Bazhong Economic Development Zone in a larger scope, broader areas, and deeper levels," said the head of the chamber.

In recent years, the zone has adhered to the principle of simultaneously developing the urban new area, industrial parks, and tourist attractions. Especially this year, it has vigorously promoted “investment, optimized the business environment, and tackled key issues." The industrial economy of the entire area has maintained a stable and sees a positive development trend. It  is expected to achieve a total industrial output value of 1.061 billion yuan for large-scale industries in the first half of the year, with a growth rate of 4.5% for the value-added of large-scale industries.
