Recently, the Zhejiang-Sichuan East-West Cooperation (Dongyang-Nanjiang) Health Food Industrial Park project in Nanzhou county, Bazhong, Sichuan province, has been intensifying construction to meet deadlines.

The project is another major achievement in the implementation of the East-West Cooperation Development Strategy. With a total investment of 1.4 billion yuan ($196.56 million), the project covers an area of 310 acres and has a construction area of 230,000 square meters, and is set to be built in two phases.

The industrial park focuses on innovation, health, and technology, with a key emphasis on the development of hydrogen-rich beverages, heparin sodium extraction, raw food fermentation ham, Italian-style pastry, and the deep processing of meat products.

The renovation of the comprehensive service center in the park is 90% complete and will be open to the public by the end of November. Once the industrial park project enters full operation, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of 1.75 billion yuan, providing more than 2,000 job opportunities.

Since the beginning of this year, the local government has positioned the food and beverage industry as one of the three major leading industries at the municipal level. They have focused closely on integrating local green ecological resources with the development of the industrial economy, and comprehensively promoted the high-quality development of the health food industry.

Bazhong is rich in green resources and is located in the core area of the country's top three selenium-rich belts, with 80% of its soil meeting the requirements for green food production. This has shaped Bazhong's food industry characteristic of being "green, organic, and selenium-rich." 

Currently, Bazhong has one national-level and four provincial-level organic product certification demonstration counties, as well as 302 "three products and one standard" (pollution-free, green or organic farm products or agro-products with geographical indications) agricultural product certifications.

While effectively utilizing local resources, the industrial supporting facilities in Bazhong have also been effectively guaranteed. Bazhong has built high-standard professional parks such as Liulin Food Industrial Park, which can accommodate a total factory area of 128,000 square meters for food enterprises. These parks have complete support elements and a smooth operational service mechanism.

In addition, Bazhong has also innovatively introduced policies, such as fulfilling the reasonable and legal demands of enterprises, government service assistance, and the quarterly clearing of government promised items, to promote investment and improve the business environment. This aims to create a comfortable and favorable development environment for enterprises.
